David Paulson has many memorable qualities. For example, he’s patriotic. He started collecting photos, paintings and prints of American presidents early in life.
Paulson is a treasure hunter. His pursuit of presidential prints led him to become an antique collector, buying things at auctions and estate sales when he had the chance.
“For me it’s fun—going to estate sales, finding collectibles,” Paulson says. “I’ve had some really neat furniture pieces especially.”
The Hankinson, ND native is also sentimental. His love of vintage and antique items extends beyond household wares. When he learned that the historic Canadian Pacific (CP) train depot in Hankinson, erected in 1899 and used into the 1990s, was scheduled to be demolished, he and his wife Bev hated to see this piece of local history discarded.
